Thanks, Shauna. Those fluid dynamics sure make some purty pictures. People studying science and aesthetics have suggested that our sense of beauty is basically an index of the actual patterns of the physical universe in which we have evolved. These are great examples of such patterns. They look a little bit like mandalas or some kind of calligraphic inkwork.
